A touring American club outside Murrayfield on Six Nations day

Rugby Tours to Scotland for American Clubs

Scotland is where we started and where we know best. Edinburgh is a compact, walkable city with a famous stadium forty minutes' walk from the hotel, clubs that love hosting a touring side, and enough going on at night that nobody needs a plan.

An hour south are the Borders towns, where rugby is the religion, sevens was invented, and a visiting American club gets treated like the main event of the month.

We took a Brooklyn club of 40+ to Edinburgh in March 2026: a fixture against a local club, Scotland v France at Murrayfield, whisky, Arthur's Seat and a kangaroo court. Read how that tour came together

Base yourself in Edinburgh

Central hotel, breakfast in, twin rooms. The Old Town, the Grassmarket and the pubs are on foot. Murrayfield is a walk or a short tram. Glasgow is fifty minutes by train if you want a second city, and the Borders are an hour by bus for a club day out.

The rugby

  • A fixture against an Edinburgh or Borders club, matched to your level, with the clubhouse afterwards. A competitive game, not a hammering and not a walkover.

  • A Six Nations or Autumn Test at Murrayfield, or Edinburgh and Glasgow in the URC on a non-Test weekend.

  • A practice at a top-level ground with a local pro coach taking the session, if you want it.

  • A Borders day: a session or a game in Melrose, Hawick, Gala or Kelso, towns where a club tour is the biggest thing happening that weekend.

Off the pitch

  • Whisky: a distillery tour or the Johnnie Walker Experience on Princes Street.

  • Arthur's Seat the morning after, for those who can.

  • The Castle, the Royal Mile and the Grassmarket are all within a ten minute walk of each other, and of the pubs.

  • Your own court, your own rules. We book the room and leave you to it.

When to come

February and March
Six Nations. Murrayfield on a Test weekend, the city full, the clubs mid-season and keen for a game. Your pre-spring-season tour.
Late August and September
Preseason for the Scottish clubs, best weather of the year, pro rugby starting up. Labor Day weekend works well for US clubs. In 2027 Scotland play World Cup warm-up Tests at home in this window.
November
Autumn Tests at Murrayfield against the southern hemisphere sides. Cold, loud, brilliant.
Avoid June and July
Scottish clubs pack up in May and a game is very hard to find.

What a week looks like

One shape of many. A long weekend is the back half of this: fly Thursday night, match, Test, court, home Sunday or Monday.

  1. 01Saturday: overnight flight from the US.
  2. 02Sunday: land, drop bags, first pints in the Grassmarket, welcome dinner.
  3. 03Monday: practice with a local coach, afternoon in the city, whisky in the evening.
  4. 04Tuesday: Borders day, a session or a game, back for a quiet one.
  5. 05Wednesday: free day. Golf, hike, sleep, Glasgow by train. Group dinner.
  6. 06Thursday: match day against the host club, clubhouse after, a big night.
  7. 07Friday: recovery, Test match or city day, reserved area in a bar for the evening.
  8. 08Saturday: court session. Sunday: home, or stay on.

Rough outline. The itinerary is built around your dates, your numbers and the fixtures that year.

Why us for Scotland

This is home turf for us. We play our club rugby in Edinburgh, we know which clubs host well and which bars want forty rugby players on a Thursday night, and we can get hold of people at the union and the pro teams when a tour needs it.

BUILT BY CLUB PLAYERS, FOR CLUB PLAYERS

We run adult clubs ourselves, so we know what a tour is for: a few good sessions, a competitive game, a few big nights, and watching some crazy good rugby.

No school groups. No youth tours. No parents. Men's and women's adult clubs, from social sides to top-of-the-league sides, and old boys who want one more trip.

We don't over-plan. The core parts are set and the rest is left open for you to go and adventure on your own. We don't come on the tour and hold hands.

Your traditions, your court, your clans, your rules. We book the room and leave you to it.

We get under the hood of local club rugby: a host club matched to your level, practices on local grounds you would not get onto on your own, and the small things that make an adult club tour better.

Our own platform takes the $50 deposits and the installments from every player and does the chasing. The organiser never collects a cent.
