About

Run by club players, for club players

We are a small rugby tour operator with one job: take an adult club from the US or Canada to Scotland, England, Wales or Ireland and make the trip the one they talk about for years, without the organiser doing any of the admin.

Who we are

Both teams together under the posts after a tour fixture

As You Like It Rugby Tours is run by Eddie Robb, an Edinburgh rugby club player who lives in New York and sits on the board at Brooklyn Rugby Club. The tours side grew out of the As You Like It group, which has run group travel for festivals and sport since 2012.

We play club rugby ourselves, in Edinburgh and in Brooklyn, so we know what a tour is for and what an organiser dreads. The platform we built handles the deposits, the installments, the chasing and the roster changes. The local knowledge and the contacts at clubs, unions and pro teams on both sides of the Atlantic do the rest.

Two offices in practice: Edinburgh, where the first tours land, and New York, where the clubs we work with are.

    Three club tours in build

Two US clubs touring Scotland around the Six Nations, one on a short-haul winter trip. Deposits in, hotels and fixtures being booked. Names when the clubs are happy for us to share them.

How we work

  • One point of contact. From first email to the flight home, the organiser deals with one person.
  • A band, then a price. We quote a band before anyone pays a deposit and set the price from real supplier quotes, low, so as many of the club as possible can come.
  • Nothing promised that isn't booked. Test tickets are allocated, not bought off a shelf. We say what is confirmed and what isn't.
  • We don't hold hands. The core parts are set. The rest is yours: your court, your traditions, your free day.

BUILT BY CLUB PLAYERS, FOR CLUB PLAYERS

We run adult clubs ourselves, so we know what a tour is for: a few good sessions, a competitive game, a few big nights, and watching some crazy good rugby.

No school groups. No youth tours. No parents. Men's and women's adult clubs, from social sides to top-of-the-league sides, and old boys who want one more trip.

We don't over-plan. The core parts are set and the rest is left open for you to go and adventure on your own. We don't come on the tour and hold hands.

Your traditions, your court, your clans, your rules. We book the room and leave you to it.

We get under the hood of local club rugby: a host club matched to your level, practices on local grounds you would not get onto on your own, and the small things that make an adult club tour better.

Our own platform takes the $50 deposits and the installments from every player and does the chasing. The organiser never collects a cent.
